Excessive Use of Technology
I have the opportunity to choose my own experiences, I can learn to do things on my own, and keep things in my mind that will help me in the future. I just have a question; will technology someday over power humans? First of all, when children spend the majority of the day surrounded by the use of technology they are not able to have a normal childhood because they become very solitary by playing video games after they get home from school. As children grow being sedentary they develop several illnesses, for instance; obesity, diabetes, depression, memory loss, vision problems, muscle disorders, bad behaviors, insomnia, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart problems.
Also, by developing these illnesses early in their lives they will continue having them thought their adulthood, and some may not even get to an adulthood life. Second of all, I believe that children should be children without the use of technology. To avoid obesity and other health problems, children should be encouraged to be more physically active in and outside of school instead of being encouraged to watch television or play video games all day.
Also, children should be encouraged to use more their imagination to create games on paper. This way, many children can use their note taking skills that will help them in their adulthood, but this skill has been lost during these generations by the excessive use of technology and has become a problem in all schools these days.
Modern Day Technology
Not having the opportunity to practice this skill in childhood becomes very difficult to be socially involved in adulthood. Finally, in my personal experience I learned better without the use of technology involved in my teaching. My teachers encouraged me the use of note taking since I was in first grade.
Now I agree with them, the note taking skill is very important to me because I can look over my notes for tests that are very important like my mid-terms and finals.
Not having technology in my classrooms was good for my social involvement and physical life. I was socially involved with my classmates, which allowed me to be physically active when I was in recess time. In conclusion, parents, future parents and all people need to choose what is better for their children, and make the decision on how they would like to see future generations to be.
